*Intervista del 29 settembre 2020
A qualche giorno dalla storica sfida dei playoff di Europa League tra Dundalk e KÍ Klaksvík, ho avuto il grande piacere di parlare con Jóannes Bjartalíð, numero 10 e giocatore di maggior talento dei Campioni Faroesi in carica. Centrocampista offensivo, con 13 gol e 16 assist in 22 presenze tra Campionato e Competizioni Europee sta letteralmente trascinando i suoi. Considerato il momento, la conversazione è stata piuttosto rapida ma il talentuoso 24enne ci ha dato spunti sicuramente interessanti!
ICN: Ciao Jóannes! Sei nato e cresciuto a Klaksvík ed hai esordito in prima squadra molto giovane. Che cosa rappresenta per te questo club? Cosa si prova a debuttare con la squadra della propria città?
JB: Ciao! È quello che sogni quando sei un ragazzino cresciuto a Klaksvík e nella tua testa non c’è altro che il Calcio!
ICN: Questo è un momento magico per voi. Tornate a vincere il campionato dopo 20 anni, vincete la Supercoppa e adesso, questo folle percorso in Europa League. Cosa vi rende cosi forti?
JB: È un gruppo composto da giocatori fisici e leali che si impegnano tanto per il nostro obiettivo di squadra. Ovviamente sono calciatori fantastici!
ICN: State battendo ogni record. Club Faroese a segnare di più in una partita di Europa League, club Faroese che arriva più lontano nella storia della competizione. Che emozioni provi sapendo che potresti giocare nella fase a gruppi dell’Europa League?
JB: È assolutamente incredibile il fatto che siamo ai playoff, ad una sola partita dalla fase a gruppi! Al tempo stesso ci crediamo, sappiamo di poter battere tante squadre con la nostra tattica e la nostra presenza fisica.
ICN: Ormai conosci bene la Nazionale essendone diventato un giocatore importante. Che cosa significa per te rappresentare il tuo Paese? Che atmosfera c’è nell’arcipelago quando gioca la Nazionale?
JB: La sensazione è un po’ come quella per il KÍ. Quando sei un ragazzino e sogni, vedi calciatori più grandi di te in TV cantare l’inno e vorresti essere al loro posto. È un grande privilegio poter rappresentare il tuo Paese. L’atmosfera è davvero buona, supporto fantastico!
ICN: Quale partita giocata con la Nazionale ricordi con più piacere?
JB: È stato bello giocare con la Spagna anche se abbiamo perso ma le partite in cui vinciamo, sono sempre le migliori!
ICN: Sei un giocatore chiave del KÍ. Le tue statistiche sono impressionanti e la tua qualità è nettamente superiore alla media del campionato. Hai già pensato di giocare all’estero?
JB: Si, è il mio sogno. Con il mio agente stiamo lavorando per farlo diventare realtà.
ICN: Una volta, parlando con Klæmint Olsen mi disse che oltre al Calcio, faceva un altro lavoro. Vale lo stesso per te? Sai, in Italia è quasi impensabile che un giocatore della massima serie, oltre al Calcio debba lavorare per vivere.
JB: No, in questo momento non lavoro ma in passato ho lavorato in un asilo.
ICN: Un’ultima domanda. Dopo aver dominato contro la Dinamo Tbilisi, come vi state preparando alla sfida contro il Dundalk? C’è grande entusiasmo o la vivete con calma?
JB: Sinceramente la stiamo preparando come qualsiasi altra partita.

ICN: Hi Jóannes! Born and raised in Klaksvik, you made your debut with this team very young. What does this club represent for you? Would you like to tell us what it means to debut with the team of your city?
JB: It’s what you dream about as a local kid growing up here in Klaksvík and nothing but football on your mind.
ICN: This is a magical moment for you. Go back to winning the championship after 20 years, win the Super cup and now a crazy course in the Europa League. What makes this team so strong?
JB: It’s a group of physical and loyal players who are committed to the plan of our team! Of course fantastic players also!
ICN: You are breaking all records. Faroese team to score the most in a Europa League match and the team that advances the most in the competition. What emotions do you feel at the idea that you could play the Europa League’s group stage?
JB: It’s very unreal that we are in the play offs and only one game away from the group stages! But at the same time we believed, we believed that we can win most teams with our tactic and physical presence.
ICN: By now you know the national team very well as you are becoming a very important player for this group. What does it mean for you to represent your country? What is the atmosphere in Faroe Islands when the national team plays?
JB: It’s like with Kí and something you dream about as a kid see the older players singing the national song when you were watching them on tv. It’s such a priveledge to represent your country. Really good atmosphere! Fantastic support.
ICN: Which match played in the National team do you remember with the most pleasure?
JB: It was fun to play against spain even though we lost. But the games where we win is always the best!
ICN: You are a key player for this Ki Klaksvik. Your stats are impressive and your quality is above the league average. Have you ever thought about playing abroad?
JB: That is my dream, me and my agent are working for it to happen.
ICN: Once I spoke to Klaemint Olsen and he told me that in addition to football he was doing another job. Is it the same for you too? Many Italians don’t know this aspect of Nordic Football because our main leagues are professional.
JB: No, I don’t do antything right now, but i have worked in a kindergarden.
ICN: The last question. How are you preparing for the match against Dundalk after winning so clearly against Dinamo Tbilisi? Is there great enthusiasm or do you live it calmly?
JB: Honestly, we prepare just like any other game.
