*Intervista dell’11 giugno 2019
Con circa 400 presenze tra i professionisti, divise come segue: 257 in Superligaen, 44 in Eliteserien, 55 in NordicBet Liga più una quarantina tra Coppe Nazionali ed Europa League, Martin Ørnskov si è sicuramente distinto come un grandissimo protagonista del Calcio Nordico. Ha difeso i colori di Silkeborg, Brøndby, Viking e adesso Lyngby. Leader di questo gruppo, ha vissuto momenti fantastici come il 3° posto e l’avventura in Europa League ma anche terribili, come il rischio fallimento e la retrocessione. Non ha mai esitato, a differenza di altri che hanno lasciato la squadra è rimasto fedele ad un club che avrebbe anche potuto sparire ed è riuscito – insieme ai suoi compagni – a riportarlo in Superligaen. Adesso la parola passa a lui!
ICN: Complimenti per questo grande traguardo. Lei è il Capitano di questo fantastico gruppo, ha vissuto tutte le difficoltà legate alla situazione del club. Oggi, cosa vuole dire riguardo a tutto questo?
MØ: La scorsa stagione ci sono stati alti e bassi. Abbiamo avuto difficoltà in autunno ma da gennaio è stato un fantastico viaggio. Adesso siamo stati promossi in Superligaen, davvero fantastico, nessuno credeva in questa squadra e adesso abbiamo mostrato di cosa siamo capaci.
ICN: Questa squadra è formata da Uomini. Non avete abbandonato il club ed i tifosi e adesso i vostri sforzi sono ripagati. Questo rende tutto più bello?
MØ: Si, la sensazione che abbiamo avuto domenica quando siamo stati promossi, ci ha fatto capire che il duro lavoro ed ogni sforzo siano valsi la pena.
ICN: Qual è stata la partita chiave della stagione? Quella in cui vi siete detti “ce la possiamo fare”.
MØ: Solo nelle ultime due partite contro il Vendsyssel.
ICN: Davvero?
MØ: Si, è stata una battaglia per arrivare nella TOP 3. Abbiamo perso tanti punti ad inizio stagione. Avevamo la squadra ma non andava all’inizio.
ICN: Guiderà ancora questa squadra nella prossima stagione? Lo può confermare?
MØ: Credo di si. Ho intenzione di firmare un nuovo contratto.
ICN: Lei è un grande leader, ha una grande carriera ed ha inoltre molta esperienza ad alto livello. Ha già pensato di diventare allenatore in futuro?
MØ: Non so cosa il futuro mi porterà. Ma diventare allenatore è una delle mie opzioni.
ICN: Può dare qualche consiglio ai giovani calciatori che stanno leggendo questa intervista? Consigli su come avere un’ottima carriera e soprattutto su come diventare un ottimo centrocampista difensivo?
MØ: Il mio consiglio è: Siate sempre curiosi su come diventare un giocatore migliore, tecnicamente, mentalmente e tatticamente.
ICN: Questo club è come una famiglia. Vincere è importante ma il rispetto lo è ancora di più. Andate sempre a salutare i tifosi a fine partita, questo per loro non ha prezzo. Spero di poter venire al Lyngby Stadion la prossima stagione e perché no, incontrarla.
MØ: Lo so, i giocatori amano il supporto che riceviamo. Ci vediamo la prossima stagione!
Quest’intervista si chiude con quella che sembra una promessa, ovviamente vi terrò al corrente degli sviluppi. Ci tenevo a ringraziare ancora Capitan Ørnskov per il tempo concessomi e per l’assoluta e graditissima disponibilità. L’augurio è ovviamente quello di una stagione piena di successi!

ICN: Congratulations for this great achievement. You are the captain of this amazing group, you lived all the difficulties about the club situation. Today, what you want to say about that?
MØ: The last season op an down. We really struggle in the fall, but since January is has been one amazing journey. And now we’re ending up promoting to the superliga. Really amazing, nobody believed in the team, and now we show everyone what the team is capable of.
ICN: This team is composed by MEN. You haven’t abandoned the club and the supporters and now, your efforts are paid off. This makes everything better?
MØ: Yes, the feeling we had Sunday when we promoted. Made every suffering and had work all worth it.
ICN: Which was the key game of the saison? The game where you say, “yes, we can do it”.
MØ: Only in the last two games against Vendsyssel.
ICN: Really?
MØ: Yes, it was i fight to be en top 3. Because we lost so many points in the start of the season. We had the team, but didn’t deliver in the beginning.
ICN: Will you still lead this team next season? Can you confirm that?
MØ: Yes believe so. I gonna sign a new contract.
ICN: You are a great leader, you have an amazing career, and you have a lot of experience in the high level. Have you already think to become coach in the future?
MØ: I don’t know what the future brings me. But being a coach is one of my options.
ICN: Can you give advices to young players who read this interview? Advices about which qualities are needed to make an excellent career and especially about how to become a great defensive midfielder.
MØ: My advice would be: always be curious on how to become a better player, technical, mentally and tactically.
ICN: This club is like a family, it’s important to win but respect it’s the most important thing. You go towards the supporters at the end of the match, this is priceless for them. I hope I can come to Lyngby Stadion next season and why not meet you if you want.
MØ: I know, the players love all the support we receive. See you next season!
