*Intervista del 21 maggio 2020<\/p>\n
Ho avuto la fortuna di intervistare il mitico Kl\u00e6mint Olsen<\/strong>, leggenda del NS\u00cd Runav\u00edk ma pi\u00f9 in generale del Calcio Faroese. Cinque volte capocannoniere e miglior marcatore della storia della Betri-Deildin, a 29 anni ha ancora tanta voglia di stupire e trascinare il suo NS\u00cd al tanto agognato titolo Nazionale. Dal passato non semplicissimo, come capirete durante l’intervista, \u00e8 un autentico simbolo di determinazione e coraggio. Non vi resta che continuare la lettura e conoscere meglio il pi\u00f9 grande protagonista del campionato dell’ultimo decennio.<\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> Ciao! Sei nato e cresciuto a Runav\u00edk e stai trascorrendo tutta la tua carriera al NS\u00cd. Cosa rapprensenta per te questo club?<\/p>\n KO: Sono cresciuto in questo club e sono in prima squadra da quando avevo 16 anni. Abbiamo vinto il campionato in quell’anno (2007).\u00a0 Nel 2012 il club necessitava di un nuovo inizio, a causa di ragioni finanziarie e i giocatori in prima squadra erano quasi tutti giovani locali. Avevo 21 anni e ho deciso di non lasciare il club perch\u00e9 volevo fare parte della ricostruzione della squadra. Sono Capitano dal 2013 ed abbiamo percorso davvero una lunga strada, adesso siamo una delle squadre pi\u00f9 forti del campionato. Abbiamo vinto la Coppa nel 2017 e ci siamo qualificati per le competizioni Europee per molti anni. NS\u00cd \u00e8 un club importante nella mia vita, hanno creduto in me nei momenti difficili e adesso li ripago sul campo.<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> Da tanti anni sei il giocatore pi\u00f9 forte del campionato. Hai gi\u00e0 ricevuto offerte dall’estero? Se si, perch\u00e9 hai deciso di rifiutarle?<\/p>\n KO: Ho ricevuto tante offerte dall’estero per lungo tempo ma non ho mai avuto questa “fame” di diventare professionista. Ho un lavoro normale e la mia famiglia attorno a me, mi piace la mia vita. Sono in Nazionale dal 2012 e questo assaggio di vita da professionista \u00e8 una grande esperienza per me.<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> In Italia \u00e8 difficile immaginare un giocatore di Serie A, avere un lavoro “normale” fuori dal Calcio. Aiutaci a capire la vita di un calciatore nelle F\u00e6r \u00d8er.\u00a0<\/em>Qual \u00e8 il tuo lavoro extracalcistico? Quanti calciatori dell’arcipelago riescono a vivere di solo Calcio? A che ora vi allenate?<\/p>\n KO: Lavoro come custode in una scuola adesso ma negli ultimi 12 anni ho lavorato come carpentiere edile. Fino a quando il campionato non sar\u00e0 professionistico, i club non potranno permettersi di pagare contratti a tempo pieno per tutta la squadra. Ci sono calciatori che ottengono il full-time ma sono soprattutto stranieri. Ci alleniamo alle 18 in settimana mentre nei weekend alle 10 del mattino.<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> La popolazione Faroese come vive questo sport? Ci sono grandi rivalit\u00e0 o finita la partita finisce tutto l\u00ed? Sai, in Italia parliamo praticamente sempre di Calcio e la situazione si surriscalda spesso.<\/p>\n KO: Il Calcio \u00e8 lo sport pi\u00f9 importante qui. Ognuno ha un’opinione ma non si \u00e8 davvero mai sentito parlare di episodi violenti. Per quanto riguarda l’Italia, ho visto un documentario sui tifosi pi\u00f9 violenti nel mondo ed eravate presenti (sorride ndr).<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> A causa di problemi fisici, alcuni dottori ti dissero che non saresti mai diventato un calciatore. Oggi sei il miglior marcatore della storia del campionato! Dove hai trovato tutta questa forza? Come hai superato i tuoi problemi?<\/p>\n KO: I miei problemi fisici non mi hanno mai colpito negativamente. I dottori hanno detto ai miei genitori che non avrei mai potuto giocare a Calcio, non intendo come calciatore ma in senso assoluto. Questa \u00e8 diventata la mia pi\u00f9 grande motivazione quando ero adolescente, volevo provare che avevano torto. Ad oggi non ho mai avuto grossi problemi con la mia gamba, n\u00e8 dolori n\u00e8 infortuni. Sono fortunato ad avere un corpo forte che pu\u00f2 gestire questa situazione fisica. Mia mamma mi ha fatto terapia due volte al giorno per 5 anni, questa \u00e8 la ragione pi\u00f9 grande del perch\u00e9 le cose siano andate cos\u00ec bene per me.<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> Sei davvero una grande fonte di ispirazione! Puoi spiegarci come hai modificato il tuo gioco per superare queste difficolt\u00e0? Salti in modo diverso rispetto agli altri o sbaglio?<\/p>\n KO: Da giovane ho fatto molta ginnastica che mi ha aiutato tantissimo. Ho imparato l’equilibrio, la forza e ad utilizzare tutto il mio corpo. Sono forte in aria ma si, salto con la gamba “sbagliata”. Uso solo la gamba destra per saltare, cosa che non \u00e8 normale se sei destro (sorride ndr).<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> Sei un grande attaccante, Qualcuno ti ha ispirato nella tua carriera?<\/p>\n KO: Il primo giocatore che ricordo di aver amato davvero era Ronaldo (il Brasiliano) al Barcelona. Aveva qualcosa di speciale!<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> “Il Fenomeno, che giocatore!”. Prima parlavi di Nazionale. Cosa significa per te giocare con la maglia delle F\u00e6r\u00a0\u00d8er?\u00a0<\/em>Quali sono i tuoi ricordi migliori con la maglia della Nazionale?<\/p>\n KO: Giocare per la propria nazione \u00e8 qualcosa di davvero speciale. \u00c8 difficile descrivere la sensazione a parole, ma per me, \u00e8 la cosa pi\u00f9 grande che tu possa fare come calciatore. Significa tanto per me e sono orgoglioso di farne parte. Il mio debutto fuori casa contro la Germania fu qualcosa di davvero forte ma le due vittorie contro la Grecia sono i migliori momenti per me.<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> Davvero? Avrei detto il gol contro la Spagna. Beh questo significa che hai davvero tanti bei ricordi. In ogni caso, sei un autentico leader da molti anni. Capitano, non sei un attaccante egoista anzi ti vediamo spesso coinvolgere tutti i tuoi compagni di squadra. Ti piace avere questa responsabilit\u00e0?<\/p>\n KO: Ah si si ! Vedi come sono? Penso sempre alla squadra prima di me stesso ed avevo dimenticato il gol contro la Spagna (ride). Certo, segnare tra Sergio Ramos e Kepa, \u00e8 stato speciale per me.<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> Hai giocato tante partite importanti. I 5 gol contro l’EB\/Streymur sono memorabili. Qual \u00e8 la partita con il NS\u00cd Runav\u00edk che ricordi con maggior piacere?<\/p>\n KO: La partita in cui segnai 5 gol, era una vittoria facile ma \u00e8 stato divertente (sorride). La finale di Coppa del 2017 \u00e8 indimenticabile, eravamo sfavoriti ma abbiamo vinto! Anche giocare a Londra contro il Fulham fu incredibile.<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> Hai vinto 5 volte il titolo di capocannoniere. Vincere il secondo titolo della storia del club, significherebbe rendere la tua carriera perfetta?<\/p>\n KO: Il mio pi\u00f9 grande desiderio \u00e8 quello di vincere il campionato prima del mio ritiro. Il campionato \u00e8 pi\u00f9 combattuto che mai ma tutto pu\u00f2 accadere!<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> “Il Calcio Nordico”<\/em> ha sempre seguito il campionato Faroese ma molti iniziano a seguirlo solo adesso, a causa della situazione legata al Coronavirus. Come stai vivendo questa situazione? Questa grande visibilit\u00e0 ha un qualche impatto sulle prestazioni dei ragazzi pi\u00f9 giovani?<\/p>\n KO: Credo sia davvero positivo per il Calcio Faroese, molti giovani promettenti hanno il sogno di diventare professionisti. Le nostre partite sono adesso trasmesse dalla TV Norvegese quindi penso che molti ragazzi saranno acquistati da club esteri nella prossima stagione (sorride ndr).<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN: Segui il Calcio Italiano? Chi \u00e8 il calciatore Italiano che preferisci in assoluto? Simpatizzi per qualche club?<\/p>\n KO: Si, la Serie A \u00e8 davvero un grande campionato con tanti giocatori incredibili ma per me Totti era un vero campione! Non tifo per nessuna squadra mi piace semplicemente guardare ogni tipo di Calcio.<\/strong><\/p>\n ICN:<\/strong> Per concludere, avresti qualche consiglio da dare ai giovani che vogliono diventare calciatori?<\/p>\n KO: Il duro lavoro, paga! Un ragazzino talentuoso che non lavora duro, non arriver\u00e0 mai in alto ma un ragazzino che lavora duro anche se con meno talento, far\u00e0 sempre pi\u00f9 strada. A molti giocatori piace l’idea di essere forti ma fanno quello che serve?\u00a0 Duro lavoro e impegno, sempre. What does this club represent for you?<\/p>\n KO: I grew up in this club and get in to the 1.team when i was 16 years old. We won the championship that year (2007). But in 2012 the club needed a new start, financial reasons, and almost only young local players where in the team. I was 21 back then and chosed not to leave the club, wanted to be part of building a new team up. Have been team captain since 2013 and we have come a long way, we are now one of the strongest team in the league. Won the cup in \u201817 and have been on euro league positions for many years. NS\u00cd is a important club in my life, they trusted in me in a difficult time, and now im paying them back on the pitch.<\/p>\n ICN: Since many years you are the best player in the league. Have you already had offers from other countries? Why do you prefer to stay in Runav\u00edk?<\/p>\n KO: I have had many offers abroad for a long time, but I have never had that hunger to turn professional. I have a normal day job and my family around me, and a like it that way. Have been on the National team since 2012 , and the pro-life there is a great experience for me.<\/p>\n ICN: In Italy it’s difficult to imagine a Serie A player, the best one, in addition in football, will go to work. For our community, you are an idol, help us to understand football player’s life in F\u00e6r \u00d8er Islands. What is your job besides football? How many footballers from the archipelago can only live on football? What time do you train?<\/p>\n KO: I work as a school caretaker now, for the last 12 years I worked as a house carpenter. As long as the league is not a pro-league, the clubs can”t pay a full time squad. There are some players that play full time, some foreigner players. We train at 18.00 in the evening and around 10.00 in the morning in weekends.<\/p>\n ICN: How Faroese people live this sport? Are there strong rivalries or out the pitch it’s ok? In Italia we speak about football all time, often turn in violence.<\/p>\n KO: Football is the strongest sport here, almost everyone have an opinion, but there is no violent episodes at all. Have seen some documentary of football fans around the world, the most violent places, italy was one of them.<\/p>\n ICN: Due to physical problems, some doctors told you when you were a boy, that you never have become a football player. Now you are the best scorer of the league’s history! Where did you find all this strength? How did you get over these problems?<\/p>\n KO: My physical problems have never affect me in a bad way. The doctors told my parents that i would not be able to play football at all, that turns out to be my biggest motivation when i was a teenager, to prove them wrong. But i have never had big problems with my leg, pain or injuries. I’m lucky that I have a strong body, that can handle the physical situation. My mom gave me treatment twice a day for five years, thats the biggest reason why things have gone so well for me.<\/p>\n ICN: You are an inspiration for many people! Can you explain us, how you changed the way you play to overcome these difficulties? You have a different way of jumping, no?<\/p>\n KO: At a young age I did a lot of gymnastics, that have helped me a lot, the balance and strenght in the body, how to use all my body. I am strong in the air, but I jump with the \u2018wrong\u2019 leg, I only use my right leg when I jump, thats not normal when you are right footed.<\/p>\n ICN: You are a fantastic striker. Were you inspired by someone in your career?<\/p>\n KO: The first player I remember I really liked was Ronaldo (Brasil) at Barcelona. He was something special!<\/p>\n ICN: “Il Fenomeno” what a player! You were talking about the National team. What does it mean for you to play with F\u00e6r \u00d8er shirt? What are your best memories with National Team?<\/p>\n KO: To play for your nation, is something very special, it’s difficult to put words to the feeling, but for me, thats the biggest thing you can get as a footballer. Means a lot to me and I’m proud to be part of it. My debut game against Germany away stands strong, but both wins against Greece is the best results for me.<\/p>\n ICN: Really? I thought goal against Spain but you have a lot of good moments! You are a true leader since many years. Captain, you’re not a selfish striker, indeed we often see you involve all your teammates. Do you like having this responsibility?<\/p>\n KO: Yeah, thats the way I am, always think about the team before myself, thats why i forgot my goal against Spain (laugh). Of course that goal against Kepa and Ramos is very special for me!<\/p>\n ICN: You have played a lot of important league games. The five goals against EB\/Streymur are unforgettable. What is the game played with NS\u00cd, that you remember with more pleasure?<\/p>\n KO: That game when I scored 5 was an easy win, but fun (smile). Cup final in \u201817 is unforgettable, we were underdogs, but won the final! To play against Fulham in London, was also amazing.<\/p>\n ICN: You have won the top scorer’s title 5 times. Would winning the second Betri-Deildin in club history mean making your career perfect?<\/p>\n KO: My biggest wish, is to win the league again before I retired. The league is stronger than ever, but everything can happen!<\/p>\n ICN: “Il Calcio Nordico”<\/em> always followed the Betri-Deildin but many people start only now, due to Covid. How are you experiencing this situation? Does the great visibility right now have an impact on performances of the younger ones?<\/p>\n KO: I think its very good for Faroese football, many promising young players, that have a dream to turn professional. Our games are live on norwigean tv. So I think we will see many players moving abroad to play next season<\/p>\n ICN: Our community wants to know : Do you follow Italian football? Who are your (all time) favorite Italian players? Do you have a favorite club?<\/p>\n KO: Yeah, Serie A is a very good league, with many amazing players, but for me Totti was a champ! I dont have a favorite team, just like to watch all kind of football<\/p>\n ICN: The last question. Do you have some advice for young people who want to become football players?<\/p>\n KO: Hard work pays off! A talented kid who doesn’t work hard, never gonna make it to the top. But a hard working kid with less talent, will always come longer. Many players like the idea to be good, but do they have what it takes? – always hard work and comittment. In England they say – You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?<\/p>\n He closes the interview in a masterly way, as he is used to doing with attacking actions.
